The Complete Guide with Easy to Follow Steps

What You Will Need:

  • D7 Lead Finder ($25 Subscription)
  • Mailshake ($45 Subscription, or any Email Automater)
  • 30 Minutes of your time

 

How To Generate Business Leads

To get started head over to D7 Lead Finder and sign up for their Starter Plan.

This tool will be the main engine to generate business leads for your company.

 

Once you signup for the plan head over to the Lead Search tab.

You will see 2 Input Boxes. One for Keyword and one for City

In the Keyword box type in the industry you would like to generate business leads from.(ex. HVAC, Dentists, ect.)

In the City box type in the location you would like to generate business leads from.(ex. Dallas, Houston, ect.)

 

Click Get Leads and wait until your leads list is generated.

Your list is now complete! Now what?

 

We are now going to Export these leads and get our Email Automation started.

Click CSV in the top left corner.

Once your list is exported we need to VALIDATE THE LIST!!!

This is the most crucial part of the Marketing Campaign.

 

If you are using MailShake they have a built in Email Verification Process that will

filter out all the “Bad” leads.  This will ensure we do not have a high email bounce rate.

ONLY FOLLOW THIS PART IF YOU ARE NOT USING MAILSHAKE!!

If you are currently using Mailshake skip down to the next section.

 

Go to Email Checker and create an account.  Purchase a set of credits and

run your CSV list through their verifier.  Once completed export the clean list.

With Mailshake

Mailshake is not required for this process but it is my preferred 

Email Automation software so that’s what I’m going to use.

 

Once Signed up for Mailshake you will either be forced to create a new campaign or 

brought to a screen where you can upload your prospects.

If you are forced to start a new campaign try to skip as much of it as possible.

We will come back and fill in the Email Campaign later.

 

Go to the Prospects tab and click on the + button in the bottom right corner.

You will be brought to an area where you can upload your CSV file.

Once your prospects are imported and verified its time to build a campaign.

Click on the Campaigns tab and click the + in the bottom right.

 

You will be directed to Name the campaign and to assign it an Email address.

If you haven’t connected an email address go ahead and do so now.

Click Next and you will be taken to the Recipients tab.

Select your List from Option #3.

 

Mailshake will now detect Generic Emails and will filter

out bad emails from your list.

In the examples shown you will notice a similarity between them.

There is a science to copywriting that we have spent years studying.

 

But I can break down the basics for you so you are able to 

create your own copy to generate business leads.

Step 1: Use power words! In your subject and hook you should use words that spark an emotional response from the recipient. In most copy people use Desire as the theme for their power words.

“Grow, Upgrade, Expand, Evolve, Gain, Secret” are a few words that you could add to your subject line to grab the recipients attention.

Step 2: Keep it simple! Sentences should be short and spaced out to make it easy to read. No one wants to read paragraphs of information. Especially when they are only opening your email out of curiosity. 

The less information you give the better.  Your goal is to get them to reply and ask you questions.

Step 3: Be straight to the point! Show them a problem and offer them a solution.  It is key to make sure the recipient actually cares about the issue that is brought up to them.

An example of this would be showing the recipient that their business is not showing up on search results.  You can help them and provide them testimonials as proof you do great work. 

If you follow those 3 steps when creating your copy you will be on the path to success with your email campaign.

Another key note is to make sure you space your emails out every 20 minutes and only follow up after 4+ days.

 

If you send emails too quickly you can get your email flagged and you will show up in your

recipients spam box.
